That’s a wonderful message of encouragement and support, Emad.

Thank you so much for believing in us.

Warmest wishes,
Sonja

PS I have cc’d Moammar to this email because he is the one who is behind it all and doing all the work.

Hello Everyone,

Happy Eid Feter to all. May it be blessed days upon all of you.

Last week I received (this) email from Sonja Karkar from Australians for Palestine in Melbourne, advertising clothing donations to be sent to Gaza and refugee camps in Jordan.

I have been in contact with them, and asked number of people about it and I had nothing but positive feedback so far. They do all that they can to get the donations to Palestine, and whatever our “dear cousins” refuse entry for, it gets distributed in Palestinian refugee camps in the middle east – which they are not doing any better, HAVE MY WORD ON IT!!!

Unless someone can give me a good reason why we shouldn’t, I believe we should be promoting this, among ourselves and also posting it on our website – as such donations carries on all year around.

So, first things first: IF YOU BELIEVE WE SHOULD NOT PROMOTE THIS, PLEASE TELL US ALL WHY.

Personally? I thought I will be donating few pieces. By the time I was done, HALF of my closet was on the bed waiting to be sent. I was shocked how much clothing I had that I don’t actually use, some of it is brand new, and it’s been setting there doing nothing for over 2 years!

SO!!!! as season is “somehow” changing; putting winter clothing away, and getting spring/summer wear out, please give your closet an “extreme makeover”! My closet just had its own and it can never look any prettier!!! 🙂

Remember, as we are welcoming summer, winter is leaving us to the middle east, and it gets really cold there. I mean really, really, really cold.

After the first issue above is resolved, the second issue of the day is: WE NEED TO PROMOTE THIS TOMORROW DURING EIDFEST 11 September 2010 Mt Gravatt showgrounds.

I know it is on a very short notice, but hey, better late than never.

I’m more than happy to take care of the donations; whether the ones we may gather from people tomorrow, or even your own. I’m more than happy to pick the items and take care of shipping it to Melbourne myself.

In terms of what you can donate, it’s simple: clothes that is in good condition; clean and not 100% worn out. In simple words; dress-able. New items are even better. The committee is also happy to receive monetary donations to help out with administrative issues – shipping costs and stuff.

SO, third and last issue of the day: CONTACT ME IN PRIVATE (my details below) IF YOU NEEDED MY HELP IN GETTING YOUR CLOTHES (NOT MONEY) AND SEND IT TO MELBOURNE ON YOUR BEHALF.

If you are welling and able to, or wanting to donate money, please contact (Olive Kids) directly:
