Who should run this country – the giant companies that profit from our labour, or the working people who everyday produce all the goods and run all the services we need? Socialists say this country belongs to workers not the bosses. As the world capitalist economy goes further into crisis, super rich corporations are forcing governments to use public money to save their profits. Julia Gillard has handed it on a platter to Australia’s mining companies. This is why Labor, Liberal and the parliamentary system exist, to guarantee the privileges of the corporate rich and keep us hooked on a “democratic show” that perpetuates social inequality and discrimination. Instead of blaming the capitalist companies who cut our wages and continuously increase the cost of living, Labor and Liberal blame refugees and migrants.
