The People’s Inquiry: Australia-US Alliance Webinar Series

Webinar Two: Defence & Foreign Policy
March 25 – 6 pm AEDT

IPAN invites you to join us for the second in a series of webinars on the US-Australian alliance – on defence & foreign policy.

The Australian public has been kept out of the debate on Australia’s foreign policy and alliances, particularly concerning the United States. As the 18th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq nears it is important to remember that foreign policy directly impacts us and has massive ramifications.

Overseas wars, defence policy and many more issues will be discussed in the second of this webinar series, held as a part of the People’s Inquiry into the costs and consequences of Australia’s involvement in US-led wars and the US alliance.

We are lucky enough to be joined this month by two of the Inquiry’s panellists, Dr Vince Scappatura who teaches Politics and International Relations at Macquarie University, his latest book is ‘The US Lobby and Australian Defence Policy.’ As well as former diplomat, Alison Broinowski who is a visiting Fellow at Coral Bell School, ANU and Vice President of Australians for War Powers Reform.

The webinar will be hosted by the Chair of the Inquiry, human rights activist and lawyer, Kellie Tranter.

If you missed the first webinar on the environment and community with Peter Catt and Ian Lowe you can watch it in full here
