QNU protests axing of experienced nurses to make way for graduates

The Queensland Nurses Union have been informed that up to 140 experienced nurses in the Metro North district will lose their jobs to open up positions for 140 graduate nurses.

This week a letter was sent to nurses informing them of the plan and offering voluntary redundancy packages.

It is set to take effect on July 31.

Dan Dixon from Newsroom 4zzz fm 102.1 spoke with QNU Secretary Beth Mohle about the issue.
