Probably the largest Justice for Palestine (JFP) Meanjin rally ever. However there were very large rallies before JFP Meanjin existed, particularly in 2006 in Queens Park . Powerful speeches and loud voices standing against the genocide and the complicity of the Aust government. #FreePalestine

ABC – purveyor of lies about Palestine
The ABC, once again, fails to heed the evidence from its own cameras and microphones. The ABC claimed that Brisbane’s rally drew 500 people when there were 9 times that many people present at the rally and who marched around the CBD filling Charlotte and George Streets. Day-in-day out ABC continues to spruik propaganda about what is happening in Gaza despite the ethnic cleansing of the north of Gaza before their very eyes. They have become the propaganda arm of government and opposition. They did not hear the voices at the rally condemning them. The commercial media outlets are just as bad or worse concocting lies every hour. Of course none of this comes as a surprise as the Australian media has always been controlled by corporate interests and never by the desire of people for truth in reporting. The tide inside the ABC is with those interests, they are on the wrong side of history and attempts at reform are wasted.
Greens Support
Federal MP for Griffith, Max Chandler-Mather, condemned the Israeli government’s killing of thousands of Palestinians and criticised the Australian government’s unbridled support for Israeli war crimes.
Many people in the rally, on the street and from the podium called for immediate ceasefire, including Egyptian woman Soha Mohamed who moved to Australia five years ago:
The ABC online even misreported what she said placing the horrific bombing of the al-Ahil hospital in Gaza City as being on the West Bank in the occupied territories. At no stage has the ABC looked critically at the false claims of Israel that they did not blow up the hospital and blaming, as they always do in a knee-jerk fashion, the Palestinian resistance. The ABC needs to take down the lies from its website. History will prove both wrong and complicit in genocide. They have breached their own code of ethics. The Australian Communications and media authority is remiss in not bringing the Australian broadcasting commission to account for their biased reporting of the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians from Gaza.
Protester Abdus Salem said he supports the Palestinian people.: “It’s a genocide which is happening. I want to stop the genocide and investigate who is doing the crime,” he said.
“Australia should stop supporting anyone who is doing the genocide.”
Fourteen-year-old Ghena Bader was born in Gaza and still has relatives living there who fear for their lives.
“It’s sad for them and for us. You’re calling them now, but next time you call, they might be dead,” Ms Bader told the ABC.
“I’ve lived through many wars and it’s difficult and sad. I feel bad for the children, they don’t deserve to live on the streets without food, water or electricity.”
