Events relating to medical treatment of Kumanjayi Walker in Yuendumu. [Please note this is a provisional timeline based on reports (shown in Endnotes)]. Sources claim medical staff within the community were evacuated following a series of break-ins[i]. Other government workers also depart e.g. Yuendumu police advise teachers to leave on Friday night[ii]. Some teachers said that they were not going[iii].

Health staff “raised safety concerns” on Saturday morning[iv].
Afternoon
Community Sorry Business at local cemetery.
Yuendumu Community Health Centre medical workers decamp (some nurses later claim they did not wish to leave)[v].
7 pm – Police Constable Zachary Rolfe discharges (?) bullets from his rifle (?) into the body of 19 year old Warlpiri man, Kumanjayi Walker[vi]. One report says Kumanjayi was unarmed and handcuffed.
“During that time a struggle ensued, and two (2?) shots were fired and he sadly passed away later on.” – Deputy Police Commissioner White[vii].
“I went outside and I saw them (police) drag him (Kumanjayi) by the leg and chucked him in the paddy wagon[viii]”
The Royal Flying Doctors Service received a brief initial report of a gunshot wound in Yuendumu at 7:45pm
9 pm Royal Flying Doctor Service claim it was notified of Mr Walker’s death. If true the RDF in Alice were told 10 hours before the family in Yuendumu. Why? [ix].
