Byron friends of Palestine will have a street stall on Jonson Street as near as possible to Fundies at 11.00 tomorrow, Wednesday. The Palestinemobile now has a homemade roof rack on which twin Palestinian flags can be raised and the stall plus banners can be carried (I’d love to drive it into East Jerusalem one day).
Given that Israel claims to be the only democracy in the M East I do not expect a repetition of a previous street rave for Palestine when two Israeli men said to me and the police that they would kill me if we had been in Israel because I was flaunting the flag of the enemy.
If you are in Byron do stop by even for a few moments and share the solidarity.
As usual Jewish businesses in the vicinity will call the police on us but let’s remember that we are unlikely to be tear gassed or shot through the head by snipers; let’s face it protesting for Palestine in Australia is easy stuff. > —
