Foco Nuevo Turns Six

FOCO NUEVO TURNS SIX

Come and join us as we celebrate our sixth anniversary, along with guest performers; Daylight Moon and Caroline Hammond.

Daylight Moon: Helena Bond and Ross Clark present a folky-jazzy blend of popular songs and Ross’s compositions. They sing of pigeons, love (both odd and even), lynchings and birthdays – songs of shadow and delight [website].

Caroline Hammond is an original singer/ songwriter of insight and earthiness, influenced by a diverse range of musical styles from blues, to gospel, reggae, African ‘hi-life’ and coffeehouse folk. A longtime study and love of Afro-Cuban percussion has made it’s mark on her unique acoustic guitar and ukulele style. Caroline will be joined by Craig Claxton, a creative and versatile guitarist and veteran of the Brisbane jazz and blues scene for over 30 years and Suzanne Hibbs a percussionist with wonderful feel and energy [website].

Jumping Fences: The song-writing partnership of Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk, will be playing their energetic folk, tinged with Cuban flavours. Their original works contain imagery and styles that reveal both an incisive insight into Australian life and a long association with Latin American culture [website].

Hope to see you next Friday,

Lachlan and Sue
