Jumping Fences

For March we welcome the return of two guests who have performed before, (in slightly different guises) – Steve Tyson & The Industrious Felons, and Chad Swaby.

Steve Tyson & The Industrious Felons: Steve Tyson, best known as the guitarist in Rough Red, has just released his debut solo album Temple Dog, an eclectic set of contemporary story-based folk songs, with nods to roots and jazz. Steve will be performing songs from the album with a specially convened band.

Chad

The Industrious Felons includes Dave Parnell (drums/guitar) and John Barr (bass) from Rough Red, and Chrissy Euston (accordion /mandolin/ harmonica) from Stockade. [website].

Chad Swaby: Hypnotic rhythms, poetic lyrics, love stories, questions, imaginings, observations, or just pure escapism, Chad provides you with a healthy dose of music. A pure believer in the live music experience: The beautiful social benefits of a folk gathering are eternal; its hard to portray a live experience on a CD.

Chad performs on stage with guitar, stomp board and harmonica in a Dylanesque style.

Jumping Fences; the song-writing partnership of Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk, play a unique mix of original and Latin American songs, bridging the gap between Australian and World music. Their songs, heard from Brisbane factories to concerts in Havana, have evocative lyrics with compelling vocals and rhythm to match.

We’ll be playing with Ross Gwyther, James Harper, Dan Simpson and Robbie Stewart.

Hope to see you soon,

Lachlan and Sue
