Two Palestinians killed and 35 others injured throughout the oPt. In the West Bank, wave of demolitions in Area C continue. In East Jerusalem, settlers take over a Palestinian building in the Old City. Other Israeli settler-related incidents continue. Water supply reduced in four Nablus villages. In Gaza, 58 Palestinians injured in an explosion. The impact of new measures on access of goods into Gaza remains limited. industrial fuel shortages and electricity crisis continue. Ma’an – Jordan Valley demolitions continue
Israel’s Civil Administration began razing housing units Monday in the Ein Hilwa area of the northern Jordan Valley, campaign officials said. Save the Jordan Valley campaign coordinator Fathi Ikhdeirat said Israeli authorities, accompanied by border guards, began tearing down structures and handing down stop-work orders to residents. The National – Inquiry shouldn’t let Israel off the hook
What are the chances that Israel will be held accountable for the fatal raid on the Gaza aid flotilla in May? If history is any precedent, it is difficult to be optimistic. Last week, the United Nations announced that a panel would investigate the attack, an investigation in which Israel has since agreed to participate. The point of the inquiry, however, is not to mend fences. In reality, the UN panel is severely limited. According to Israeli reports, it will not be able to subpoena or investigate Israeli military or civilian personnel, curtailing access to first-hand testimony. Documents will be limited to Israel and Turkey’s internal inquiries, ignoring reports from the UN’s own Human Rights Council. Two young girls stood, as if frozen, starting below them at an ever vibrant Beirut. Their balcony, like the rest of their house and most of their refugee camp was of an indistinct color.
