The Big Ride for Palestine

This is my fifth year in the Big Ride for Palestine. This year, after a warm-up in the Tour de Brisbane in July, we are ready for TBR21 for Palestine from 25 Sept till 10 Oct. Personally, I am hoping to average 30 kms per day concluding with a river loop in my home town, Meanjin (Brisbane). Lachlan is even more ambitious, hoping to complete 500 kms in the two weeks of the Big Ride. On the 10th October, we are organising a river loop river ride and a picnic at the Balaidi Coffee Cart on the Corso at Yeronga. We will publish further details soon.

The past year has not been good in  Palestine … we have seen how bad it can get in the open air prison of Gaza, now it is just as bad on the West Bank. But with that the Palestinian resistance remains and this is what I support. I dedicate my ride to those Palestinians seeking the right of return to their homeland.

I am lucky to have good Arab friends who have taught me much about the region that is called “the Middle East”. So saddle up and please register to ride along with us and see if a better world is possible. You can also purchase the jersey and/or T-shirt shown below when you register on the website at https://bigrideaus2021.raisely.com/

If you do not wish to walk, run or ride please sponsor me or anyone you know who is participating.

And here is an interesting story about a sweet factory in Palestine …
