Winter is definitely here. We’ve had some wild days of strong westerly winds last week and more are predicted this week, on Wednesday, and also the weekend, as cold fronts sweep across the south-east of Australia. Westerly winds tend to be very gusty as they flow over the land which is a very rough surface compared to the ocean. This roughness creates turbulence, which is measured by rapid changes in both wind direction and speed. So I will be taking the opportunity for some windsurfing although turbulent conditions make selecting the best size sail more difficult.
Temperatures are expected to fall to around 5 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning as the winds swing to the south. But warmer days should return by Friday evening and into the weekend with maximums around 25 degrees on Saturday. There may be a shower or two on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Thursday, Sunday and Monday are looking like the best days to enjoy the sun.
See ya next week. Trev the Weatherman
