This Foco Nuevo brings a novel twist; members of Rough Red will be presenting songs from their Songwriters’ Circle project, to be followed with a set by Rough Red. Along with a performance by the hosts, Jumping Fences, it’s bound to be a night of good music. Hope to see you there!

| Rough Red: One of Australia’s most travelled bands, Rough Red has taken its original brand of folk-rock to Europe seven times, performing at some of the world’s great folk and roots music festivals, including Bardentreffen in Nuremburg, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Brosella Folk Festival in Belgium, Galway Arts Festival in Ireland, Vikedal Roots Music Festival in Norway, and the Skagen Festival in Denmark. The Reds have released seven albums over two decades year, with songs that reflect the band’s Australian heritage and extensive travels. [website]. |

| Rough Red Songwriters’ Circle: The individual members’ solo and side projects have resulted in 17 albums produced between them, over a 21 year career. With an incredible portfolio of songs that mix genteel balladry with pop and country sensibilities, Rough Red is presenting a new show in 2016, where all five members perform tunes from their respective solo albums, backed up by the other lads, in classic ‘songwriters’ circle’ format. Their new album OUT OF THE RED is a compilation of the circle songs. |

Dynamic arrangements move easily between tenderness and energy and their lyrics take the rich poetry of everyday life into bigger social themes, creating strong points of connection for their audiences.
