Studio 188 is at 188 Brisbane St Ipswich – previously the Baptist Church.Featured poet is Kalkadoon & Pitta Pitta Elder THERESA CREED-TRACEY and the music artist for the night is PHIL MONSOUR.
In partnership with Solidarity Külture Club, we are proud to present Rhyme, Rhythm and Reason on regular Tuesday evenings at Studio 188.
Offering a mixture of the spoken and sung word, the evening combines text and lyrics. Each month a headline poet will read from and discuss their work, followed by an ‘open mic’ session where audience members are invited to the stage.
Music and song will be woven into an evening that will include favourite poems and audience participation in the chosen works.

· Gold coin donation appreciated.Theresa Creed-Tracey is from the Kalkadoon and Pitta Pitta Aboriginal nations of North West Queensland. She is a dancer, singer, actor, visual artist, poet and mother. Her performance poetry includes spoken word with musical accompaniment and tells a story of love, hope, power and survival in a racist colonial society.
Phil Monsour is an independent singer/songwriter with a history of producing music that travels beyond the mainstream to explore complex issues of identity and solidarity. He has extensive performing and recording experience as a solo performer and with his various bands. Recent releases include 100 Days (2014) and Ghosts of Deir Yassin (2012). Phil Monsour performs regularly locally and internationally. Phil’s most recent release 100 Days is an acoustic flavoured CD that blends some Eastern sounds with a contemporary acoustic rock style.
