Words of Struggle – a night of revolutionary hip-hop and spoken word

Red Flag presents
Words of Struggle II
A night of revolutionary music and radical spoken word

Friday, 31st of January @ 7:30pm
Kurilpa Hall, 174 Boundary Road West End

You are invited to a radical night of revolutionary spoken word poetry and anti-racist hip hop presented by the independent, left-wing, anti-Murdoch paper Red Flag.

We are pleased to present a whole lineup of radical hip hop and spoken word artists who represent the spirit of resistance and celebrate the legacy of revolutionaries like the Black Panther Party.

Featuring the radical words and music of:

  • local hip hop artist Grammar
  • South Sudanese hip hop crew No Pain No Gain (NPNG) who do spoken word but also make tracks that profile the struggle of refugees who come to this country
  • The inspiring Mc Triks, CPG and their crew Boomerang Effect, and MC Bek Poetik – who are all at the front-lines of fighting anti-Aboriginal racism that the disgusting Australian state was built on from day one
  • PLUS Marx Sick-Mind, socially conscious MC of Filipino background who speaks out against injustice, oppression and poverty

AND more special guests on the night!

ENTRY:

  • Solidarity: $30
  • Waged: $20
  • Unwaged/concession: $10

Doors open at 7.30pm! Drinks are also available, so join us for a night of revolutionary music and radical spoken word, and meet the activists behind Red Flag and this event!
