Murdoch supports ‘children of the revolution’

The AUSTRALIAN newspaper made libelous statements against Boycott Divestments and Sanctions campaign today.

The paper labels the BDS walking tour in Brisbane on the weekend (28 Aug 2012) as ‘extremist’?

The claims printed in the Australian article [Shop targeted for daring to sell Israeli shoes] — written by a journalist, Christian Kerr, who was not there. Christian Kerr quoted the shop owner who must have been in Disneyland with claims that her store was occupied and claiming people protested outside her store for 3 hours when it was more like 5 minutes. The walking tour continued after a short period had elapsed. The journalist and newspaper made insufficient research of the facts, his statements were false (Langey v ABC 1997). Has he caused harm to the BDS campaign, I suspect not .

For some reason armed police in attendance told the store proprietor to come out on the street and to ask the BDS campaigners to leave even though they had vacated her store and were walking down Adelaide street when she said: “I am asking you to leave.” Presumably a refusal to do so would have precipitated further police action. When you think about it what is the motivation behind such a display by a store owner? The owner told one of the BDS activists who handed her the letter that the store only stocked the shoes because of their glue. Apparently Noat claims the glues are not made from animal products. Is the shoe shop owner seeking a niche market in Zionist products — will eager buyers flock to ‘Children of the revolution’ store on the back of such publicity? Who? Vegetarians? Surely no one would want to be associated with such a sale? There is a simple solution – take the shoes off the shelves.

There was a brief speech outside the store (depicted in the video) with facts about the Israeli prduced Noat shoes sold inside the ‘children of the revolution store’ — this is an excerpt of that speech:

“Palestinian people are asking us to boycott Israeli products such as Naot shoes – just as the oppressed people of South Africa asked us to boycott South African products. As people of conscience we should listen to them.

When you walk in Naot shoes you walk on the rights of Palestinian people.

When you sell Naot shoes you profit from the oppression and dispossession of the Palestinian people.”

The owner was handed a letter requesting her store desist from selling Noat shoes because of unlawful* nature of the Israeli apartheid regime that produces them. Here are the demands in the letter:

“The international BDS campaign movement is committed to international law and human rights and demands that Israel:

· Ends its occupation and colonisation of all Arab lands and dismantles the separation Wall, considered illegal by the International Court of Justice;

· Recognises the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality; and

· Accepts the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.”

The BDS walking tour then continued on to David Jones that sells SodaStream products, a company that produces soft drink on stolen land using Palestinian water, and by exploiting Palestinian workers.
(*the Israeli military occupation and the apartheid wall breach international law).

Noat Shoes advertise in the Australian and are made in the occupied territories. Israel jail innocent Palestinians without charge or right to trial using so called ‘administrative detention’** which breaches a number of international laws and covenants.

Conclusion
I am reminded of the hysterical article by the AUSTRALIAN made public claims the disgraced former councillor of Logan City.  Hajnal Ban had shouted out to BDS campaigners outside Brenner’s coffee shop at SouthBank  that they were ‘baby killers’.

No lie is too great, no fiction less plausible than the AUSTRALIAN newspaper’s reports of the BDS campaign in Australia’s capital cities.

Perhaps Murdoch should buy out Disneyland if he hasn’t already ‘cos, according to this report, Abigail Disney has turned on the zionists:

**Australia breaches similar international covenants in the criminalisation of refugees and use of administrative detention of children to prevent indonesian fisherman bringing boatpeople to our shores.
