Mark Cryle and the Redeemers: Recently described by Rhythms Magazine as ‘one of Australia’s finest singer songwriters’ whose ‘pithy and catchy songs resonate deeply and manage to reflect the Australian psyche’, Mark Cryle cut his teeth with the band Spot the Dog but has since emerged as a force to be reckoned with as singer songwriter with his releases Notches on the Wall (2006), House of Cards, (which was voted Folk Alliance Australia’s CD of the year for 2009) and most recently Sideshow Alley. Mark will be performing with Richard Evans (guitar, harmonica, vocals) and Michael Patrick (fiddle, vocals). These superb musicians join Mark in concert as The Redeemers [website].

Tikal sings popular songs from Guatemala, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and other Latin American countries. These songs were learnt by members of the group in their childhood, having being passed down through the generations. They sing to connect their familiar experiences with others in Australia, and to share their love of music.

Jumping Fences: the song-writing partnership of Lachlan Hurse and Sue Monk will be performing as a trio, accompanied by Ross Gwyther on tenor sax and clarinet. They will of course be playing their unique mix of original and Latin American songs, heard from Brisbane factories to concerts in Havana. [website]

Hope to see you there,

Lachlan and Sue
