I’d like to let you know about a gig I’m bringing together, The Company Threads, at the Jazz Club on April 16.
It’ll feature four of us from Kooii (Lachlan on guitar and vocals, myself on trumpet and vocals, and coming up from Melbourne, Darcy on sax and Dom on drums) as well as Stu on Double bass and Tnee on keyboards.
We’ll be playing original tunes by myself, Stu and Darcy as we venture into the jazz realms of our creativity, a little different to the more often heard style. We’ll also play some classic old tunes that have come to mean something to us.
It’ll be swinging and creative. In the moment and flowing.

Hello,
I’d like to remind you about a couple of up coming events I’m involved with.
The first is tomorrow night, Sat April 16 – a great gathering of music and musicians in the ‘Company Threads’ at the Brisbane Jazz Club. It includes some of my friends from Kooii and others getting creative in the jazz kinda way, playing our own compositions. The music starts at 7:30pm. Tix $22. Good idea to book for this. The second event is the Growing Roots Permaculture and Yoga Retreat over the Easter weekend. I will be there holding a few sessions as a ‘music facilitator’ conducting some workshops involving harmony singing and body percussion. The retreat is run by my friends Bunya and Will Bumer. Growing Roots Details:
This is an invitation to the Growing Roots Yoga and Permaculture Retreat this Easter long weekend from 22 to 25 Apr (6 pm Friday to 3 pm Monday) at Wild Mountains Trust on the Scenic Rim of the Border Ranges.
This seasonal workshop series, co-facilitated by Bunya and Will Bulmer, explores interconnectedness, combining the planting and maintenance of a food forest with calming movement and music meditation, bush walking and time to breathe in the mountain air to integrate your experiences
At this retreat we will also be treated to performances and musical meditations and improvisation sessions from Peter Hunt, songwriter and member of the afro-reggae group Kooii
