Concert for Japan

Concert for Japan Durrumbul Hall 9/4/2011

The people of Byron shire and the Japanese community have been busy focusing attention and raising funds for the Japanese earthquake and its aftermath.

The community is planning a big Concert for Japan on Sat 9th April, at Durrumbul Hall, from 3pm till 12pm. The concert will feature a line up of the shire’s best musos, incl Wild Marmalade, OKA, Yeshe, Passion Flamenca, Laura Target & Shai Shriki, Will Conner, Matthew Pitts & theGreen Tea Icecream, Armando & Rodney, Hip Hop Prophetesses, Gina Lakosta, Beau Young, Barefoot Gypsies, Yusuke Akai, Taiko team KIZUNA, DJs, plus more.
The day will also feature Japanese food, culture and art, a bazaar, a sunset ceremony and a people’s action for a nuclear free world, with guest appearances by filmmaker David Bradbury and Mookx, longtime peace activist.
Entry to this family friendly event is with a suggested minimum donation of $20 or $15 concession. All profits will be donated to charity in Japan.

    I am amazed by the generosity of the community here in Byron Bay, particularly those who have little but their time and energy to give.
