Ma’an – Abbas: Negotiations must be serious
President Mahmoud Abbas said Israel would be fully responsible if negotiations fail as a result of settlement expansion, as he gave a speech in Ramallah before heading to Washington to relaunch talks. Talks, which are set to begin on 2 September, will address final status issues including Jerusalem, refugees, prisoners and security among others but that “security must not continue to be a security for the continuation of the occupation and settlements,” Abbas said. NY Times – Actors’ Protest and Rabbi’s Sermon Stoke Tensions in Israel Ahead of Peace Talks

How can a “Labor” Just 4 Palestine and Forgedabout Israel, which dredges up everything negative about Israel and everything positive about Palestine create peace?
If you are neither Israeli nor Palestinian, surely you should be nurturing the seeds of peace, ie joint projects between Israelis and Palestinians who at considerable risk are opting to work together in grassroots projects. To take sides from the opposite end of the globe, seems like pouring fuel on the flames from a safe distance, just for the gratification of seeing the flames rise higher. Is there such a thing as a political fire-bug?
